One of the most important events of the year has taken place for two consecutive days in Valencia. It is the I Economic and Social Forum of the Mediterranean, an initiative of the Prensa Ibérica group and La Caixa Foundation, who relied on the GrupoIdex team for its organization.
The objective of this event was to bring together governments, companies and civil society to promote the economic and social development of the Mediterranean with a comprehensive vision: territory, progress and people, through the activation of strategic opportunities that have a positive impact on people’s lives.
The event was attended by the Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Elma Saiz, and the President of the Valencian Community, Carlos Mazón, as well as other personalities from the business, social and political spheres, including Javier Moll, President of Prensa Ibérica; Maurici Lucena, executive president of Aena; Rubén Leonor Bravo, strategy manager of Renfe; Ramón Gras, urban planner, researcher in City Science at Harvard Harvard University; and María José Catalá, mayor of Valencia, among many others. All of them have pursued a joint reflection in order to unravel the economic, social and cultural details of a region that brings together eleven provinces in which 41% of the country’s population lives and which generate 40% of the national GDP: the Mediterranean arc.
