The Azorín Novel Prize Gala, one of the most outstanding and prestigious national literary awards granted by Editorial Planeta and the Diputación de Alicante, was held on March 7. Undoubtedly, the complexity of organizing this event one more year lies in continuing to surprise the public thirty years after its first edition. A mission that, from Grupoidex, we internalized and for which we put into play the full potential of the human and technological team, being reflected in the creative process of the event.
On this occasion, the challenge was to propose a tribute from Azorín, the character, to José Martínez Ruiz, the author, through the communication axis of this edition’s motto, which was: ‘The character who became an author’. The message was embodied in a dramatized reading interpreted by Luis Merlo. With an emotional soliloquy, an introspection of Azorín was made, where he thanks José Martínez for having created him, having given him independence and having given him the absolute protagonism of his fame, passing the real person to the background. Through this thread we get to offer one more insight into the author and his wonderful narrative world, who managed to break with the conventions of the past to create a character who became the author himself.
In our commitment to make an experiential event to immerse attendees in a dynamic and differential way in the theater environment, all the elements that accompanied the gala were significant and added value in every detail.
Congratulations to Cristina López Barrio, the winner of this prestigious award, in the 2024 edition.
